Naval Architect
Summary
NETSCo is seeking a Naval Architect and/or Marine Engineer to join its team of professionals. NETSCo is a growing Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering firm that provides complete ship, ATB, tug, and barge designs of all types; from concept through actual construction. NETSCo is a leader in marine environmental solutions, vessel conversion, the use of alternative fuels (LNG, Ammonia, Methanol), and vessel electrification.
The successful candidate will provide support with most areas of the Naval Architecture including stability, structural design and analysis, feasibility studies, construction and retrofit specifications, and development of complex marine systems.
NETSCo has offices in Cleveland, OH. And Tampa, FL and this position could reside in either location. This individual will be working closely with a team of experienced naval architects, marine engineers, electrical engineers and marine designers, both as a team and as an individual.
Requirements
Naval Architect/Marine Engineer
Candidate Basic Qualification requirements
A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, or a relevant engineering field of study.
Five (5) years of relevant work experience; Vessel Owner, shipyard, classification society, engineering consulting.
Additional Candidate Qualifications and Competency
Experience with structural design on Articulated Tug and Barges (ATB), Tankers, and LNG vessels.
Project Management experience, position will require project management of small and/or short-term projects
Proficiency with FEA Software (e.g. NASTRAN or ANSYS).
Proficiency with Stability Software GHS.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel primarily), and AutoCAD.
Working Knowledge of marine Regulations, such as USCG, IMO, and Classification Societies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
Short term and short notice travel from time to time.
Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License desirable.
