General Dynamics NASSCO is the nation’s premier designer and builder of large ocean-going commercial ships and naval auxiliaries and is the largest full service shipyard on the west coast and the largest employer in San Diego with approximately 4,700 people. We currently have contracts to build 12 T-AKE dry cargo and ammunition replenishment ships (with options for 2 more) and 5 49,000 ton product tankers (with options for 4 more). Our repair facilities are currently servicing 52 Navy ships and we expect to have approximately $1.4B in service contracts over the next 5 years.
