Company Profile

Art Anderson Associates, Inc

Company Overview

Art Anderson Associates, Inc exists to engineer the great ambitions of organizations who lead. For more than fifty years we have stretched our canvas to apply naval architecture under the sea, both on, and above the sea, and far inland, in ways that benefit society and give value beyond engineering. Our employees come from solid technical backgrounds while retaining an ability to innovate as systems thinkers, often in diverse technical and social groups. In keeping with the select nature of our work we routinely find ourselves in the winners circle of companies who treat their employees best.

Company History

Started in 1957 By wife Bea and former naval shipyard engineer Art Anderson, the first generation displaced national firms in supporting engineering overflow from the Bremerton naval shipyard. In developing the Carrier Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) with PERA(CV) in the 70's the way was paved for dual use of life extension ideas in the Washington State Ferry fleet. Later, succeeding Nickum and Spaulding as Washington State's term contractor, the company firmly established itself in the commercial design practice. Over the last 25 years the firm has continued to expand design capabilities and system analytical skills. Significant research in high performance vessel design, and behavior of moored marine structures bookends our operational research into the future of mass transit, and intermodal design. Each year has been a step up in the purpose of engineering and the consequence of our work. Ahead our knowledge base and patented work will support a rich blend of applied and theoretical engineering for the betterment of our world.
