Description

The Hydromechanics and Naval Architecture Lab at Florida Institute of Technology seeks a postdoctoral researcher in experimental hydrodynamics with an initial one-year appointment (start date as soon as possible).

Research focus areas include:

Full-scale ship powering analysis
Open-water self-propelled ship model testing
Turbulent boundary layers over rough and compliant surfaces
Naval hydrodynamics

Requirements

Requirements:

Strong experimental background
Experience with instrumentation, DAQ systems, mechatronics, and MATLAB
PhD in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a closely related field
U.S. citizenship
This is a highly hands-on position for an experimentalist comfortable working in both field and laboratory environments.
