DeJong & Lebet, Inc. is a well-established, full-service naval architecture and marine engineering firm founded in 1983. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, we specialize in the design and conversion of vessels primarily under 400 feet, including passenger vessels, ferries, yachts, casino boats, research vessels, cruise ship tenders, and fishing vessels. Our team delivers complete vessel designs with a strong focus on performance, cost-effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and client success.
We are seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join our collaborative Jacksonville team and contribute to exciting new-build and conversion projects.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hull forms, lines plans, and fairing using modern 3D modeling tools
- Perform hydrostatics, stability analyses, and weight/CG estimates
- Conduct structural design, scantling calculations, and specialized arrangements
- Prepare production drawings, specifications, and regulatory submittals (USCG, ABS, etc.)
- Coordinate with clients, shipyards, and the US Coast Guard throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to design reviews and ensure projects meet performance, budget, and schedule goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a closely related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in naval architecture (vessel design or conversion preferred)
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (Rhino, AutoCAD, Orca3D, Auto hydro, or similar
- Strong knowledge of vessel stability, structures, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
- U.S. work authorization required
- Bonus Qualifications Experience with small-to-medium passenger vessels classified under Subchapter T & K is a plus.
