Description
The position(s) in naval architecture support the research and teaching activities of the School of Engineering and Technology, aligned with the naval architecture discipline and its courses. The naval architecture program is specifically “grey ship” navy focused. The position will be involved in advancing the School’s
international profile by undertaking a range of teaching duties, conducting scholarly research, and contributing to the supervision of research student. The position will also contribute to the effective functioning of the School by undertaking a range of other administrative duties.
Key Skills and Experience:
Have a PhD in naval architecture or a related discipline or substantial relevant professional and technical experience.
Ability to teach effectively and with authority in one or more of these specific areas:
o ship hydrodynamics,
o ship structures, and/or
o warship and submarine design.

Requirements
Due to the security requirements of the role, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate Defence security clearance. To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will have full working rights in Australia, however we are open to sponsorship. It is preferable that you are a citizen of a 5-eyes nation (Australia, US, UK, Canada or New Zealand) and are available to commence in 2026.
Holders of PhD’s would be preferred but practitioners will also be considered.
